Can cats eat pringles?

When we first adopted Milo we tried feeding him some of the Pringle crisps we ate and he loved them!

When it came to Milo he just seemed to like the whole Pringle flavour of his crisps. The texture of the crisps just seemed to go down a treat and they were a cheap snack for him to eat!

He would eat a few at a time without complaint, but then suddenly he would be wanting to eat more and more.

So to get him back on track, after a few crisps we will have the pringle bar removed and have the crisps in smaller pieces. When Milo eats the smaller pieces it is the same amount as if we are just to eat plain crisps.

I have found that Milo enjoys the Pringle treats much better after a month or two of him eating the other style of crisps. He doesn't like the taste of them at all.

So for the health of my cat, am I doing the right thing and can cats eat pringles?

Thank you for your quick response to this question.

The Pringles can contain a range of other harmful ingredients, including parabens, which are often used as a preservative in cosmetics, shampoo and moisturiser.

The ingredients in the Pringles crisps is listed on the packaging and there are other websites which can supply more details on this and other issues.

Many cats develop allergies to the ingredients used in such snacks.

There is also some scientific evidence that Pringles are more addictive to cats than normal cat foods.

You should take into account the amount of calories in Pringles if you want to use them for your cat's snack.

They provide a great source of vitamins and minerals, and I imagine they may be quite tasty too.

I would probably not want to use them as a sole source of nutrition for my cat, but they may be a good alternative to regular cat foods, providing your cat is not overly fond of them.

If you want to find out more, I would start by searching for information on Pringles (or another snack type) and read up on the ingredients.

And please take care of your kitty in the meantime while he or she is on holiday!

I got a letter from Pringles' saying that they are having problems with one of their stores because of the flood but they will be open on December 14, 2013! Thanks for getting the word out! I think it is a long shot that the store that you saw has anything to do with the letter...but it is interesting, nevertheless.

I don't really know why they can't just keep their prices the same and have a flood damage that occurs on December 14, 2013 be an excuse to charge the same price again on December 14, 2014, and just move on with their lives. At least they are open and you can buy their products.

Thanks, Jan. The reason I thought that it was probably a part of the same store is that the package stated that they were moving and not just shutting down. If it was the entire store and they are moving I would expect a notice to appear on their website before they left.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you to all for your interest. The following message has been sent to you by the Customer Service team.

With our current flooding, we are unable to trade in the short term. However we will be ready to open our doors again once the flood waters have receded.

Yours sincerely,

P.S. You will also be pleased to know that the following brands are unaffected by flooding and are still available: Kettle Chips, Maltesers, Daddies Hot Chocolate. We're looking forward to welcoming you back in for the start of the festive season and look forward to keeping in touch!

Hi Andy, I have been trying to contact Pringles since Saturday. The email I sent in from Saturday has never been replied to. I also tried calling the helpline and left a message, but there was never any reply. I tried to call again yesterday, and it would not let me leave a message. I emailed the customer service email address, no reply either. When I called the phone number for that email, it rang twice and then was just a busy signal. I then left a message, which also has never been returned. I would appreciate hearing back from them, as I am really struggling to get hold of them.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for getting in touch. I was away last week and just found out this morning that the ad that was on the Pringles UK website as recently as Sunday 8th June has been removed. I have not been able to get hold of anyone in the Customer Service team. Please let me know how you go when you get in touch with them.

I have been trying to call the hotline number which hasn't been answering since Saturday. I'm trying to make a last minute buy for christmas for my grand daughters for their party (I believe it's the 14th).

Hi Sue, I hope you can help. I had trouble getting hold of the hotline number over the weekend (Sunday 12th July). I was told the line was down, but when I called it again later in the day, it said it was still up. I left a message, but I have had no reply. Can you please help me get in touch with the hotline line again?
